Treat Yourself to a Smile Makeover

November 15, 2017

A new year, a new smile. As the holiday season approaches, you’ll likely be purchasing gifts for your family members and friends. How about doing a little something for yourself, too?

Maybe your teeth are stained. Maybe they are chipped, worn down, or crooked. Maybe you don’t like the look of your gums. Maybe it’s a combination of a few or all of these things. Whatever your complaints with your smile, we can transform it into one you’ll be eager to show off.

To book a consultation and learn more about smile makeovers at Contemporary Dentistry & Implantology, call our Peabody, MA office at 978-278-1760.

What Is a Smile Makeover?

A smile makeover is just what it sounds like. We create a customized plan to give you the smile that you want. Based on your budget, your needs, and what you want your smile to look like, we may incorporate any number of cosmetic dentistry procedures. At Contemporary Dentistry & Implantology, we offer techniques to address a wide range of cosmetic dental problems.

Veneers

Veneers are a transformative procedure with origins in Hollywood — and they remain popular with movie stars and other entertainers. These super-thin porcelain covers are permanently bonded to the fronts of the teeth, covering myriad flaws in one procedure. If your teeth are stained (including discoloration that hasn’t responded to whitening treatments), chipped, cracked, gapped, or even mildly misaligned, veneers will give them a flawless appearance.

Our porcelain veneers are custom made to fit your mouth and tooth color perfectly. Once your veneers are crafted at an outside lab, you will come to our office to have them bonded to your teeth. We will need to remove a small amount of enamel from your teeth before placement. Veneers are durable, stain resistant, and look just like natural teeth. With proper care, they will last decades.

Teeth Whitening

Are your pearly whites looking, well, not so white? At Contemporary Dentistry & Implantology, we can help you scrub off those stains and reveal the gleaming smile underneath.

Our take-home system allows you to whiten your teeth at home, at your convenience. We will create custom whitening trays using impressions of your mouth, to ensure the gel covers your teeth completely. You will wear the trays for a few minutes each day until your teeth are at the shade you want. You can do touch-ups as needed.

Because our professional product contains more active ingredient, it is much more effective than over-the-counter drugstore kits. At the same time, it is gentler on the teeth.

Gum Reshaping

Did you know we can change the shape of your gums? If you believe that too much of your gums, or too little of your teeth, show when you smile, we can trim your gumline using a dental laser. This procedure is painless, precise, and fast to heal.

Gum Recession Therapy

If your gums recede due to gum disease or another reason, your tooth roots may become painfully exposed and your teeth could eventually fall out. At Contemporary Dentistry and Implantology, we offer gum graft surgery, which involves cutting tissue from another part of the mouth and stitching it into place, as well as the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique for restoring gums.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a simple technique that hides stains, cosmetic chips and cracks, closes gaps, and can even alter the shape of a tooth. It’s often seen as a faster and far less expensive alternative to veneers. In this procedure, we take a composite resin material that perfectly matches the shade of your enamel and mold it to your tooth. The resin will be shaped, hardened, refined, and polished. While not as durable or long lasting as dental veneers, dental bonding may last several years with proper care.

Botox and Juvederm

So your teeth and gums are looking good, but maybe you have wrinkles that detract from your smile. Our Botox and Juvederm fillers erase those unsightly lines and take years off your appearance. Now you’ll have a luminous face to go with your stunning new smile.

It’s time to stop being unhappy with how your smile looks and do something about it. A smile makeover enables you to choose just the procedures that fit your needs and your budget and craft a stunning smile — a smile that reflects you, a smile that reflects your personality.

Dear Patients:

We are so very excited to announce that we are once again able to provide dental services for you, our valuable patients. Contemporary Dentistry & Implantology will reopen on May 18, 2020.

While things are certainly not “business as usual,” we wanted to let you know we are here for you in our clean, comfortable, and safe environment. Our standards are well “above and beyond” what the American Dental Association and Centers for Disease Control recommend. We love what we do and the people we do it for. We are always here for you.

This high level of service is just one of the many ways that we are supporting our community, and it is included in the excellent work that we do…we go through a comprehensive disinfection after every patient is cared for.

Dr. John Argeros, Dr. Donald Plourde and all team members here at Contemporary Dentistry & Implantology will continue to go above and beyond for our patients…it is second nature. For this and many other reasons, many of our patients have trusted their care with us for years.

We very much look forward to seeing you, your family, and your friends very soon.

Sincerely,
Dr. John Argeros, Dr. Donald Plourde
